Description

The Problem:

  • The Creo View Adapters Worker Daemon executable (WorkerDaemon.exe) and related process is used to facilitate the execution of remote Windchill workers (workers not running on the Windchill server) on Windows platforms
  • Due to various factors, some of which are explained below, the reliability and stability of this worker start-up mechanism has been affected
  • Consequently, PTC has developed alternative techniques for starting the Worker Daemon process that work around some of these problems

Common Issues that may result:

  • Workers will fail to start with various errors
  • Windchill Workgroup Manager (WWGM) client based File Synchronization or Package Content Synchronization may faill
  • Specific CAD application related functions may behave unexpectedly, e.g. Additional File Type creation relying on CAD application Save As / Export functionality
