Description

  • Unable to start Apache Tomcat service with error:
Windows could not start the <ThingWorx Service Name> on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 1.
  • Unable to start Apache Tomcat ThingWorx-Foundation after updating Java version:

  • Java version has been updated from 8u92 (uninstalled) to 8u221 (installed), on starting Tomcat it shows the above error
  • Error in Tomcat stdout log located in <Apache Tomcat>\logs
    • [info] [ 2520] Commons Daemon procrun (1.0.15.0 64-bit) started [info] [ 2520] Running 'ThingWorx-Foundation' Service... [info] [ 5276] Starting service... [error] [ 5276] Failed creating java <JRE>\bin\server\jvm.dll [error] [ 5276] The system cannot find the path specified. [error] [ 5276] ServiceStart returned 1
  • Apache Tomcat service is not starting and giving error
  • Apache Tomcat 9.0 service stopped automatically
