Inconsistent behaviors when converting "Weld Geometry Type" of Weld Features configured as columns of Assembly Family Tables in Creo Parametric 6.0

Modified: 30-Sep-2020

Applies To

  • Creo Parametric 6.0.0.0 to 6.0.5.1

Description

  • Inconsistent behaviors when converting Weld Geometry Type of Weld Features configured as columns of Assembly Family Tables
  • Family Table columns listing a Weld Feature displays label:
    1. "F" + <Weld Feature id> +"[FLTWLD]" if the Weld Geometry Type of the Weld Feature is Surface
    2. "M" + <Weld Feature id> + <Weld Feature Name> + ".PRT" if the Weld Geometry Type of the Weld Feature is Solid
  • Later, if Weld Geometry Type is modified in Generic model with Right-Click on the Weld Feature in Model Tree and Convert to action:
    1. Surface welds converted to Solid Welds will keep original above first header information ("F" +...) , instead of getting now the expected second label standard ("M" + ...)
    2. Solid welds converted to Surface Welds are unexpectedly automatically removed from Family Table definition
