Adhoc ACL provided at Lifecycle is not working in Windchill PDMLink

Modified: 23-Apr-2021

Applies To

  • Windchill PDMLink 10.2 to 12.0

Description

  • AdHoc ACL for the subtype of the Design review doesn't reflect the Member role user
  • Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create the user and add the user under the PTC Author license group

2. Create one general library as 4private access is Yes

3. Add this user under members of the team of this library

4. Go to Site->Utlities and Type & Attribute manager and go to type Review and expand it

5. Create one subtype for peer review with instantiable yes

6. Now go to an organization where this library is created and OIR administration

7. Create a new rule select that type: Container review, Name should be Container review, and upload the below-attached OIR

8. Now go to Lifecycle administration at the same org level and create new or else you can save as the Peer review lifecycle as Container review

9. If you want to create a new lifecycle then add the states: In works, Under review, Approved, Cancelled

10. Now for every state, go to roles and add the submitter to the selected roles if the submitter is not there and select it and click on participants and got to actors tab, add the creator to participants table, hit ok

11. repeat steps 10 for each state, refer to the attached Submitter1, Submitter2 screenshots

12. after that for the state's access control tab, select the submitter and grant the read and download permissions

13. Do step 12 for each state, also for every state, in the Transitions table revised the check for all the states and revise for only in-work in the table but these settings will continue for all the states.

14 Go to Workflow administration at the org level, rename the peer review workflow to the name "Container Review Workflow"

15. make sure the lifecycle and workflow are checked in

16. Go to the team templates of the Organization templates and create new and give the same "Container Review Team" and add the  reviewer and Submitter in it

17. Finally go to the Library that is created as private and go to utlities, Policy administration, select default domain of the library

18 Create new ACL as type is, container review, State will be inwork if the lifecycle is started with the inwork or open if it started with the Open, participants add members role and grant permissions,

Read, Download, Modify, Modify Content, Create By Move, Create

19. Now log in with that user which added as members in the library

20 Go to folders of the library with that user and create a new review

21.After creating we have the read and download option set in the ADHoc ACL in the lifecycle, it's stating the message and not giving access to the user to that created review. as per the below image accessdenied
access is denied for the member role user from the library

Now if you go to the admin's log in again and see the created review from that library, go to the process, use is already there under submitter but add it again or do the set state, then the user can access the review.
