Arbortext Publishing Engine (APE) Worker fails to start from Windchill PDMLink Worker agent administration

Error can also occur when the hosts file listing for the PE server machine is incorrect

Description

  • APE Worker fails to start and Method server log reports the following exception:
WARN  [Thread-124 ProcessMessages] wt.method.server  - Uncaught exception on thread: "Thread-124 ProcessMessages" [id=338]
java.lang.NullPointerException
    at com.ptc.wvs.server.cadagent.Worker.sendReply(Worker.java:1606)
    at com.ptc.wvs.server.cadagent.ProcessMessages.run(ProcessMessages.java:99)
  • Fails to start error is seen in Windchill worker UI when trying to start Apeworker
