[Important] New Required Timezone setting in ThingWorx 9.x

Description

  • New Timezone setting and related data migration scripts have been introduced in ThingWorx Platform 9. If not applied properly during Installation/Upgrade, there is a risk of data loss during upgrades or Daylight Saving Time (DST) changes.
  • The PTC provided installer does not execute data migration scripts which leaves the ThingWorx schema in an inconsistent state after an upgrade
  • While the Installer and the Documentation are currently being reworked, this article explains what to do depending on the context:
    • Manual New Installation
    • Manual in-place Update
    • Installer based New Installation
    • Installer based In-place Update
  • The ThingWorx log has 8 hour difference from Local Server time (Apac)
